The European Sport Model for Inclusion

The InSport project: Sport Inclusion – Full Participation in Sport by Persons with Disabilities is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus + program and ran from January 2018 to June 2020. This project focuses on promoting the full participation and social inclusion of persons with disabilities in and through sports, physical activity and the promotion of healthy living habits, through the development of a European Model for Inclusion. It is coordinated by the APCAS-Cerebral Palsy Association of Almada Seixal (Portugal) and has the following partners: European Paralympic Committee [EPC] (Austria); TAFISA – The Association for International Sport for All (Germany); UNESCO Chair, Tralee Institute of Technology (Ireland); Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (Portugal); and Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity Netherlands (The Netherlands).

This document corresponds to the second phase of the InSport Project – Output 2: Development of a Proposal for a European Model for Inclusion. This document intends to present the European Model for Inclusion in Sport proposal and some Guidelines for its implementation.

This model aims to promote and enable the inclusion and full participation of persons with disabilities with sport systems and organized structures of the Member States of the European Union, and in general in Europe, being able to extend this Model to the other regions of the planet.
