If the participants like the sport, they can make arrangements directly with the relevant sports provider to go and play sports there. |

Required facilities, location | Sports club where several sports can be practiced or a sports hall – make sure it’s fully accessible! |
Required materials | Sports providers bring their own materials to demonstrate and to allow people to try the sport; for example, they may provide enough sports wheelchairs for people to try out various sports. |
Supervisor competencies | People with an understanding of the specific sports offered and with knowledge of the possibilities to regularly play this sport. Ability to manage and coordinate an event. |

2. Promotional activity 2 – Creating local/regional overview of all (adapted) sports activities offered
Description of an example of activities aimed at stimulating participation in sports/physical activity for people with disabilities.

Developing a digital platform that people can use to search for suitable activities, based on criteria such as type of disability and distance to residential location. 2. Collecting the data of all sports and physical activity providers with activities for the target group, people with disabilities, and classifying them by target group and location. |

3. Promotional activity 3 – Theme week of adaptive sports

4. Promotional activity 4 – Sport Heroes
Description of an example of activities aimed at stimulating participation in sports/physical activity for people with disabilities.

Type of activity | Introduction lessons for sports and physical activities that last 5-6 weeks. |

The goal of the activity: | Children and young people with a disability get acquainted with various types of sports and physical activities, through lessons provided at their schools. After those lessons they go on to play those sports at the sports clubs and when can join that sports club and become physically active on a structural basis. Through the lessons at school, also their physical fitness is improved, but also self-confidence, independence, and social interaction. |
Target group | Children and young people (6-19 years) with a disability who are in primary and secondary special education. |
Duration, scope of the activity | Three to five weeks, one hour per week, introductory lessons at school, followed by an introduction to sports and physical activity at the accommodation of the sports providers. This cycle can be organised once per school year or more often. |
General description of the activities | Students become familiar with one or more branches of sport or forms of physical activity during school hours. This under the supervision of a trainer from a sports or physical activity provider. After a few lessons, students who wish to do so can get to know more about sports or exercising at the location of the sports or physical activity provider. After that they can become a member and play sports or engage in physical activity regularly. |

5. Promotional activity 5 – Bring a Friend
Description of an example of activities aimed at stimulating participation in sports/physical activity for people with disabilities.

The goal of the activity: | Allowing people who do not play sports or are hardly ever physically active (and their parents, carers, etc.) to discover sports or physical activities in an easily accessible way. |

Duration, scope of the activity | One-time introduction of approximately 2-3 hours with an option for a follow-up. |
General description of the activities | Someone who actively participates in sports or physical activities asks someone else (a friend, relative, etc.) to join them for an activity or training. Several people do this at the same time at the same sports or physical activities provider. The guests are welcomed at a joint reception, receive a trial lesson or training, and get to know the organisation/sports club. |

6. Promotional activity 6 – Trial lessons at sports club
Description of an example of activities aimed at stimulating participation in sports/physical activity for people with disabilities.
